The Island of the Lost

Poveglia, a small island off the coast of Italy, was once the site of a plague quarantine station, and later a psychiatric asylum. It now sits deserted, home only to the ghosts of local legend. Liv has been granted permission to visit for a writing assignment.

But she is there for a very different reason: she is certain it is the last place her twin sister Mia visited before she vanished eighteen months ago. Liv doesn't believe in ghosts, but alone on the abandoned island with only her colleague Sam, she can't deny there is something deeply unsettling about the place . . . How can a church tower chime when there is no bell?

How is the island able to infiltrate her dreams? And what is the ghostly figure in her peripheral vision? As Liv grows closer to understanding what happened to Mia, she must also face up to the island's secrets - and its strange connection to her family.

Who - or what - is stalking her? And why does it feel so familiar?
