MOTHER WARRIOR WITCH: Irish Myths and Legends Retold, is a vital and vibrant anthology, breathing new life into traditional Irish myths and legends through the voices of some of the best Irish contemporary women authors.

Ailbhe Malone, the editor of this collection and a keen reader of every kind of mythological story, looked around to find a voice that celebrated her own heritage. Finding an inexplicable lack of Irish stories and, in particular, writing that explored the incredible emotional, physical strength - and vulnerability - of women, Ailbhe decided to approach the best contemporary Irish writers across all sorts of genres, and ask if they might contribute to a collection inspired by the traditional roles of women in Irish mythology: mother, warrior or witch.
